September, 2013 – Somera Capital Management, LLC in partnership with Zelman Development Co. acquired the defunct Blue Mountain Mall in Walla Walla, WA. The former mall site is 47 acres and has entitlements for 500,000 square feet of new retail. The project will be developed in phases, with the first phase consisting of approximately 115,000 square feet of retail and pad sites being developed in 2014.
Together, Somera and Zelman have successfully developed over 1.5 million square feet of retail, including Moorpark Marketplace (anchored by Target and Kohl’s) and Burbank Empire Center (anchored by Target ant Lowe’s).
